Statement on the U.S. Military Buildup in the Asia-Pacific
BAP condemns the U.S. military escalation in the Asia-Pacific and its manufactured tensions with China as a pretext for expanding the war machine.

The Black Alliance for Peace opposes the escalating U.S. military buildup in the Asia-Pacific region. The manufactured confrontation with China serves the interests of the military-industrial complex, not the interests of working and poor people — in the United States or across Asia.
The AUKUS pact, the expansion of U.S. bases in the Philippines, and the militarization of the Taiwan Strait all represent a reckless drive toward great-power conflict that could devastate hundreds of millions of people. We call on peace-loving people everywhere to oppose this dangerous escalation.
We stand with all peoples of the Asia-Pacific region in demanding: No new U.S. military bases; no AUKUS; no sanctions against China; and diplomacy, not military confrontation, as the path forward.
